VX Media Appoints New Global COO & Shanghai General Manager

VX Media is thrilled to welcome Chris Zhang as Global COO & General Manager of our Shanghai Office. With over a decade of leadership experience at TikTok, Douyin E-commerce, Tmall, AliExpress, and PwC, Chris brings a proven record of scaling high-growth businesses, optimizing operations, and leading large, cross-functional teams.

At ByteDance, Chris led US TikTok Shop Fashion and Sport, Outdoor, and Kids Fashion, delivering record GMV growth, major campaign uplifts, and expanded creator-merchant ecosystems. He also oversaw ByteDance’s full Apparel division, managing 80 team members, driving top-performing categories, and leading high-profile brand and creator partnerships that shaped the industry.

Chris has also held operations roles at AliExpress and Tmall, worked at PwC, and founded his own cross-border e-commerce business, giving him extensive operational, strategic, and entrepreneurial experience across markets and platforms.
